Milestone reflects KOR strength in tough market

Keeping mine sites clean is rarely a simple task but it is vital when maintenance, spills and material recovery need to be completed quickly to avoid production disruption.

Many sites rely on Cappellotto industrial vacuum trucks to support safer, more efficient mine clean-up and maintenance work.

Exclusive distributor of the trucks in Australia and New Zealand for 15 years, Melbourne-based KOR Equipment Solutions, says Cappellotto CAP VAC 3200 INDUSTRIAL (CVI) and CAP BORA 3200 XL 10×4 trucks have been used in major mining centres across the region.

At IMARC 2026 in Sydney, the company is celebrating delivery of its 1000th Cappellotto truck in Australia and New Zealand. It will showcase the Cappellotto CAP BORA 10×4 at the event.

The delivery milestone reflects the consistent performance of the trucks, and KOR’s support, in a market that demands reliability and durability.

A KOR spokesperson says the high powered wet-and-dry vacuum recovery units are engineered for heavy-duty vacuum recovery, clean-up and shutdown maintenance. “Heavy-duty” covers efficient dust, ash, coal fines, mineral concentrates, sludges and other bulk materials recovery in difficult or restricted locations.

“Importantly, they are capable of a broad range of applications in the mining industry as besides the recover and removal of wet and dry materials they clean beneath conveyors, crushers, screens, hoppers, silos and storage areas as well as providing dry and hydro-excavation support,” the spokesperson says.

Key benefits of the Cappellotto units include:

  • The CVI truck is designed for both wet and dry vacuum capability, increasing fleet utilisation across different sites.
  • 270-degree (CVI) and 285-degree (Bora) boom rotation and long distance 8-inch vacuum hoses provide operators with greater reach and manoeuvrability for material recovery and reduce reliance on manual handling for enhanced safety.
  • The powerful vacuum performance of the 8-inch system compared to equivalent trucks operating at mines means faster recovery of heavy and light materials, including over extended distances and from hard-to-access areas, for higher productivity.
  • Rapid material removal gives maintenance teams earlier access to conveyors, crushers, transfer points, silos and processing equipment, helping operations avoid costly downtime.
  • The units deliver high vacuum performance with lower fuel consumption than other units, reducing cost per recovery application.

“KOR is continuing to drive Cappellotto’s footprint in the mining sector as the CVI and CAP BORA units are high-productivity tucks that perform in challenging environments for extended periods,” the spokesperson says.

Complementing the CVI and CAP BORA trucks are Gerotto remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) that can be connected to vacuum trucks to undertake specialised cleaning and material recovery applications.

Designed for hazardous and confined-space environments, Gerotto ROVs allow operators to perform cleaning activities remotely using camera-guided hydraulic controls. By removing personnel from high-risk areas they help reduce worker exposure while maintaining productivity and operational efficiency.

“Together, Cappellotto vacuum trucks and Gerotto ROVs provide operators with a comprehensive solution for safer, more productive clean-up, maintenance and material recovery across mining and industrial environments,” KOR says.
