As Government and the Environmental movement trumpet a “Green Transition” to a Net Zero Carbon future there are many realities standing in the way making the current timelines seem like a pipe dream. We discuss some of these impediments that need to be overcome.

There is a major supply deficit of Critical Metals needed for Green Infrastructure. We discuss some of the impediments to bringing supply on line. These would include permitting issues. NIMBYism (the same groups that oppose Oil and gas also oppose mining the minerals needed to replace Oil and gas) Deglobalization is posing a threat as many materials are in the hands of few countries and many of those countries are not friendly to the Western world. As these materials become increasingly necessary Resource Nationalism is starting to take hold not only in developing countries but Western Nations such as Canada.

We discuss the slow down and potential for deflation in China as well as the looming recession in the West. We ask the question; Does this ease the Gap or Make the Issues worse?
