Prospector News Publisher Michael Fox is joined by Andrew Sleigh Sales Consultant with Sprott Money. We continue our discussion of 2 weeks ago on the basics of the Bullion Markets.
First we discuss Bullion shortages (There is currently a shortage of Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins), what causes them, how it effects pricing and whether cross border traffic (due to the US Bank issues) was causing the current shortages.
Michael discusses whether the type of coin matters. The question being isn’t the ounce of silver the same no matter where it comes from. We learn that there actually might be a pecking order for coins.
We then discuss how to liquidate bullion when the time comes. How to convert bullion back to Fiat currency and who will buy it back as well as some tac implications if you use a chartered bank. Also how the bullion can be used for barter in certain areas.
Finally Andrew is asked about Platinum Bullion and whether it is a wise investment compared to gold and silver.
