IMARC 2025: World’s Premier Mining Event Returns to Sydney with New Experiences and Targeting Record Attendance

The International Mining and Resources Conference + Expo (IMARC) returns to Sydney in 2025 with a broader audience and bolder ambitions, catering for decision-makers and key personnel across the resources industry — from CEOs and investors to frontline operators and technical innovators.

Held from 21-23 October at the ICC Sydney, IMARC 2025 will welcome more than 10,000 delegates from over 120 countries, making it the most ambitious and globally connected event in IMARC’s history. With more than 450 expert speakers, over 500 exhibitors and 20,000 sqm of dynamic expo space, this is where mining’s most influential minds and emerging ideas collide.

“Whether you’re closing deals on the expo floor, problem-solving at a roundtable, or gaining insights in the plenary, IMARC 2025 is about real conversations, real outcomes, and real impact,” said Anita Richards, Chief Operating Officer at IMARC.

IMARC 2025 presents exciting new initiatives for attendees at every level of the industry, including:

Expanded FREE Mining Guest Pass

In a major move to bring more operational leaders into the fold, IMARC has expanded its free Mining Guest Pass program. This year, eligible on-site employees of mining and energy companies as well as contract miners can access the breadth of the event — including the full conference program, exhibition, daily networking functions, and an exclusive miners’ event. Eligible roles include Mine Site Operators, Engineers, Supervisors, Operations, Procurement, Supply, Maintenance, Technology, Innovation, and Asset Management.

“It’s more than a ticket, it’s a backstage pass to the future of mining,” said Ms Richards. “We’re proud to be opening the doors to more people who are driving operational excellence on the ground.”

Mining Operators Series

Brand new in 2025, the Mining Operators Series focuses on the people driving results on the ground. With technical presentations, miners-only networking, CPD points  and guided expo tours, this is a must-attend for frontline professionals.

Innovation & Investment Alley

This year IMARC puts R&D in the spotlight, with a zone dedicated to breakthrough technologies poised to transform the sector. Innovators, startups, research teams, and technology developers will showcase standout solutions that drive productivity gains and sustainable outcomes.

At the heart of the Alley, our Innovation & Investment roundtables create intimate, high-value opportunities for connection between innovators and funding sources. Investors, venture capitalists and prospective clients will gather with the hosting company to discuss opportunities, challenges and pathways to commercialisation.

Comprehensive Speaker Program with a Focus on Robust Supply Chains and Productivity

The mining industry is navigating a volatile landscape shaped by geopolitical instability and market uncertainties. In this challenging environment, companies must innovate and adapt, and this year’s conference has a focus on strengthening supply chains, optimising costs and driving productivity. With a packed agenda across six different streams, IMARC 2025 will explore the key opportunities and issues facing the industry globally. The six streams are:

  • Mining Innovation [sponsored by Continental]
  • Digital Transformation [sponsored by Convergio Industrial Tech]
  • Mine & Project Development [sponsored by DRA Global]
  • Energy Transition & Decarbonisation
  • Investment [sponsored by Fender Geophysics]
  • Global Opportunities

Confirmed speakers include Thiess CEO Michael Wright, Minister for Resources the Hon Madeline King, VALE Base Metals Chair Mark Cutifani, Idemitsu CEO Steve Kovac, BHP Group Procurement Officer Rashpal Singh Bhatti, Glencore Group Lead Social Performance and Human Rights Catherine Pattenden, Australian Strategic Materials CEO Rowena Smith and European Commission Director for Decarbonisation Joaquim Nunes de Almeida.

The IMARC Expo: 20,000m² of Innovation

The IMARC Expo is where industry meets ingenuity. With over 500 exhibitors, it’s the only place in Australia to experience:

  • Live demos of the latest mining tech
  • Machinery and solutions from around the world
  • Conversations with the sector’s most innovative startups and METS (Mining Equipment, Technology and Services) leaders
