IMARC 2025: Saudi Arabia Champions Global Partnerships to Power a Sustainable Mineral Future

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its commitment to global partnership and collaboration in shaping the future of the minerals industry, as H.E. Khalid Al Mudaifer, Vice-Minister for Mining Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, addressed international leaders at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Sydney this morning.

Speaking to delegates from 125 nations, H.E. Al Mudaifer emphasised that “collaboration is no longer optional – it is a strategic necessity.”

“As we gather here, our shared purpose is clear, to build a mineral industry that is sustainable, resilient and equitable, one that powers global prosperity and supports the world transition,” H.E. Al Mudaifer said. “The challenges before us are global, not local, in a world where mineral supply chain and every industry from renewable energy to defence and technology, no nation can secure its future in isolation.”

“We are strengthening ties with partners here in Australia and across the world to ensure that every link in the global minerals chain is more secure, more sustainable and more inclusive,” he said.

Vision 2030: Mining as a Pillar of Growth

Under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, mining has been designated as the third pillar of national industry, alongside energy and petrochemicals. H.E. Al Mudaifer said the Kingdom’s mining strategy is underpinned by stability, transparency and investor confidence, supported by modern regulation and a business environment designed for global partnership.

In 2024 the Fraser Institute placed the Kingdom first globally for political stability and 7th for environmental regulation.

“Our story is not about extraction—it is about transformation,” said H.E. Al Mudaifer.

“The transformation we seek will not be achieved by competition alone, but through shared purpose and trust. Saudi Arabia stands ready to play its role as a reliable partner, a transparent market and a bridge between nations and industries.”
