Sydney will again welcome the global mining and resources industry in 2027, with the International Mining and Resources Conference + Expo (IMARC) confirming its return following a record-breaking 2026 event.
The announcement capped off the largest IMARC ever, with more than 12,500 delegates and 500 speakers from more than 120 countries, continuing IMARC’s rise as one of the world’s premier resource events.
IMARC will return to ICC Sydney from 12 to 14 October. Business Events Sydney chief executive Amanda Lampe said the event delivered significant economic benefits through the visitor economy, industry development, investment and collaboration. She said this year’s event alone was expected to deliver an estimated $26 million in direct local expenditure, and IMARC had delivered more than $100 million for the state’s economy since it moved to Sydney in 2022.
“IMARC’s growth in Sydney shows what’s possible when industry, government and the business events sector work together. Beyond the economic boost for NSW, IMARC puts Sydney at the centre of global conversations on critical minerals, investment and the future of the resources sector,” Ms Lampe said.
IMARC Event Director Paul Phelan said the event reinforced Sydney’s position as a global meeting place for mining investment, innovation and international collaboration.
He said IMARC 2026 delivered international reach, economic value for Sydney and meaningful commercial opportunities for the mining industry and that momentum carries into 2027.
“IMARC isn’t simply getting bigger. It’s becoming an increasingly important international platform for mining investment, government engagement and commercial partnerships and by attracting more than 12,500 participants and 500 speakers from over 120 countries, including government and ministerial representation from more than 50 countries, IMARC 2026 reinforced Sydney’s position as a global meeting place for mining investment, innovation and international collaboration.
“The global industry came to Sydney this week with a clear purpose. Governments are securing supply chains, investors are looking for bankable projects, and mining companies are looking for the technology and partners to deliver them. IMARC is where those priorities turn into business.
“We saw that in practice, from Oman bringing investment opportunities to market, to more than 650 investors meeting junior miners in the Mines and Money Mining & Investment Hub, to 4000+ meetings taking place at the Traxys IMARC Connect Lounge. Those relationships will deliver long after the event closes.
“We’ll be back at ICC Sydney in October 2027, and our focus is clear: even greater commercial value for everyone who takes part.”
IMARC is proudly supported by Founding Partners Austmine and AusIMM and Mines and Money.

The week culminated in the sold-out IMARC Gala Dinner, proudly supported by headline sponsor Mancala, alongside supporting sponsors KCL Industries and Coal Australia. Bringing together more than 700 guests, the evening celebrated the strong connections forged throughout the week and the spirit of collaboration that defines the global resources sector. A highlight of the evening was the Gala Dinner Awards, recognising emerging talent, breakthrough technologies and outstanding contributions to the mining industry.
IMARC’s Paul Phelan said: “More than 12,500 people from over 120 countries came to Sydney this week with a clear purpose. Beacon Events COO Anita Richards said: “These awards recognise three things our industry needs: leaders who build world-class businesses, innovators who find better ways to operate, and the next generation who will take mining forward. Amanda Lacaze’s leadership of Lynas Rare Earths shows what it takes to turn ambition into a globally competitive business. It’s a privilege to recognise that achievement.
“Alongside her, CorePlan and Sarthak Chaudhry show where the industry is heading. They combine new technology and fresh thinking with the experience of established leaders.”
IMARC’s Paul Phelan said exhibition space and partnership opportunities are already selling fast for 2027, and urged exhibitors, sponsors and other partners to act quickly to secure their place in Sydney next year.
