Exhibitors at this year’s International Mining and Resources Conference + Expo (IMARC) have reported exceptional engagement, new business opportunities and valuable international connections, with some describing their most successful event yet and confirming their return for 2027.
The three-day conference and exhibition, which concludes in Sydney today, attracted more than 12,500 attendees from over 120 countries, bringing together mining companies, decision-makers and technology providers from across the global resources industry.
More than 500 exhibitors participated in IMARC 2026, with companies highlighting the commercial value of face-to-face engagement with prospective customers, opportunities to develop new partnerships and a pipeline of business to pursue following the event.
Environmental and sustainability consultancy Cowie Environmental reported exceptional results, with the quality of international connections and new business prospects prompting the company to secure its place at next year’s event.
“IMARC delivered more engagement for us than any other conference we have attended so far,” said Managing Director Brendan Cowie. “Over the three days we met outstanding industry professionals from across the globe and held productive discussions on the environmental and approvals challenges facing new and expanding projects.”
Mr Cowie said the company was returning to Brisbane with new relationships, insights into emerging technologies and a substantial pipeline of follow-up conversations.
“We have already booked our booth again for IMARC 2027 and look forward to building on these connections next year,” he said.
For TOMRA Mining, which develops sensor-based ore sorting technology to improve mineral recovery, its fourth consecutive year at IMARC was its most successful yet.
TOMRA Mining Area Sales and Technical Manager Gavin Rech said: “This is our fourth consecutive year at IMARC, and we have been really impressed by the level of engagement this year. It has definitely been our best year so far.
“The first day in particular was incredibly busy, with such a high level of engagement that our whole team left genuinely exhausted at the end of the day, in the best possible way.”
The value of direct access to customers and industry decision-makers was echoed by exhibitors across the mining technology and services sector.
CCS Electric, which supplies variable speed drives and motors for mining and heavy industry, reported a marked increase in activity compared with last year.
Product Manager Matt Gleeson said: “We’re experts in variable speed drives and motors for mining and heavy industry, and IMARC this year feels twice as big and twice as busy as last year. We’ve had some really productive conversations with both existing and prospective customers, and there’s been strong interest in what we can bring to their operations.”
For mining technology providers, the exhibition offered an opportunity to test market interest in new products and technologies, and gain direct feedback from potential customers.
Fleet management software provider Haultrax reported strong interest in HX Coach, a new capability designed to help mining operators improve performance and make better use of fleet data, while RCT – Powered by Epiroc highlighted international customer engagement around technologies to improve safety and efficiency across existing mining fleets.
Quoreka, which provides mining and supply chain management software, said the event had enabled valuable discussions with international mining companies and technology providers about improving transparency and reliability across critical minerals supply chains.
CEO Bruce Boytim said: “The event gave us valuable face-to-face time with the global mining and METS community and direct feedback on our agent-driven roadmap for Quoreka’s material intelligence service. The response reinforces that the industry is ready for solutions that make critical minerals supply chains more transparent and dependable.”
Other exhibitors, including MOTUM Simulation, Acquire and HID Global, highlighted opportunities to demonstrate their technologies, build industry relationships and gain insights into customers’ operational challenges.
The strong response from exhibitors reinforces IMARC’s role as a global marketplace for the mining industry, providing companies with direct access to prospective customers, opportunities to develop commercial partnerships and connections that extend well beyond the three-day event.
Building on the success of IMARC 2026, the event will return to ICC Sydney from 12–14 October 2027, with exhibition, sponsorship and partnership opportunities now available. Companies seeking to connect with international mining decision-makers, showcase their capabilities and develop new business relationships are encouraged to contact the IMARC team to secure their participation.
