Prospector Podcast – Ted Elwood: Unearthing Nevada’s Lithium Goldmine – Peloton Minerals Reveals Exciting Prospects

In this episode, Michael Fox, the host of the Prospector Podcast, interviews Ted Elwood, the President of Peloton Minerals Corporation (CSE: PMC) (OTCQB: PMCCF), at the Resourcing Tomorrow Conference in London. Ted discussed Peloton’s large lithium prospect in northeastern Nevada, which is one of the richest lithium supplies for the United States. He explained that lithium deposits are formed in clay beds, often in former lake beds or seabeds, and are near-surface and easy to mine. Ted also highlighted the unique geology of the Northern Nevada area, which has a secondary source of lithium in the form of primary magmatic mineral sites. This has enriched the lithium-bearing clay beds, making the area one of the richest in North America.

Lithium Deposits and Property Expansion Plans

Ted discussed the potential for lithium deposits in their property, drawing on the experiences of their neighbors, Lithium Americas and Surge. He mentioned that they have conducted extensive soil geochemistry and detailed geologic mapping and are currently expanding their property. Michael also outlined their plans for the future, including conducting geophysics to determine the depth of clay layers, drilling shallow holes in the winter, and a larger drill program in the spring. He emphasized the importance of avoiding drilling during wet conditions for environmental reasons.

Ted also highlighted the pro-mining environment in Nevada, with more gold produced there than in most other countries. He mentioned Tesla’s big giga factory in Nevada and the state’s efforts to promote the entire lithium cycle, from exploration to recycling. Michael expressed his enthusiasm for the future of the industry and the potential for white gold in the form of lithium.
