Ross Orr, President and CEO of Bactech Environmental (CSE: BAC) (OTCQB: BCCEF), discusses their new patented process for extracting minerals from pyrotite tailings from nickel mines. The process, called the “zero waste initiative,” converts one ton of pyrotite tailings into five marketable products, including magnetite for steel production and organic fertilizer. The technology has the potential to address critical metal shortages, environmental concerns, and tailings management issues in the mining industry. Ross explains that the next step is to build a demonstration plant to verify the scalability of the technology, which could take about a year to construct and 6-12 months to run. He estimates that full commercialization could be achieved in a couple of years, with plans to potentially license the technology for global implementation.
