Prospector Podcast – “Jay Martin: Unlocking Investment Opportunities. On geopolitics, Commodity Prices and the VRIC 2025”

In this episode, Michael Fox is joined by Jay Martin, the organizer of the upcoming Vancouver Resource Investment Conference, to discuss the lineup of speakers and the importance of understanding geopolitics and its impact on commodity prices. They also talked about the importance of new companies in the industry’s growth and the VIP experience offered at the conference. Lastly, they discussed the Commodity University, and the expected attendance of around 8,000 investors.

Geopolitics and BRICS at Conference

Jay discussed the conference’s focus on geopolitics and its impact on commodity prices, highlighting the importance of understanding the underlying reasons behind geopolitical events. He also mentioned the conference’s lineup of speakers, including geopolitical analysts like Colonel Douglas McGregor, Dr. Pippa Malmgren, Glenn Deeson, Dr. Pascal Lottaz, Andy Schectman, Grant Williams, Frank Giustra, and Mark Moss. The conversation also touched on the BRICS nations and their growing influence, with Jay emphasizing the need for investors to keep an eye on their efforts to trade outside of the US dollar.

Understanding Industry Forces and Growth

Michael and Jay discussed the importance of understanding the forces at play in their industry, with Jay organizing the agenda into three tiers: geopolitics, monetary and fiscal policy, and direct capital allocation into the mining sector. Jay mentioned that they have around 285 junior mining companies expected to be at the show this year, which he sees as green shoots. Michael agreed, noting the industry’s recent robustness and consolidation through M&A, but also the need for new companies to ensure the industry’s continued growth.

VIP Ticket for Exclusive Event Experience

Jay discussed the upcoming event, emphasizing that it is 100% sponsorship supported and general admission is free, but a VIP ticket is required for a unique experience. The VIP ticket, priced at $1,400, grants access to a keynote speakers’ cocktail party, a front-row seat at the Speaker Hall, and all meals during the event. Jay also mentioned that VIP tickets often come with a complimentary pass for the following year’s event. Michael compared the VIP experience to having a backstage pass at a Rolling Stones concert. Commodity University Course and Event Jay discussed the Commodity University, a 10-chapter video course designed for newcomers to the commodity business. He emphasized that the course covers the fundamentals of investing in hard commodities like gold, silver, uranium, copper, nickel, and energy metals. Michael highly recommended it, stating that it would have significantly shortened his learning curve when he first started 22 years ago. The event dates for this year were set for January 19th and 20th at the Vancouver Convention Center, with content starting at 8:30 am and ending at 6 pm. T
