On location at the Current Trends in Mining Finance Conference put on by the NY Chapter of the SME, Michael Fox is joined by Chief Geoscientist of Imdex Dr. Dave Lawie. As we feel the increasing effects of climate change, society is going to have to invest heavily in hardening the infrastructure to mitigate the effects of climate change. For example, there is a project called the “Ike Dike” (named from Hurricane “Ike”) to protect Galveston Bay and the Chemical industry there from climate change at a cost of $34 Billion. Although a relatively small in scale project the investment is large. And there are many more projects of this scope planned around the world.
