Prospector News Podcast – BacTech Environmental CEO Ross Orr Discusses Company advancements In Bioleaching
Prospector News Publisher Michael Fox is joined by BacTech Environmental President and CEO Ross Orr. Discussions center around the company’s advancement of their Bioleaching Project in Ecuador and its environmental remediation benefits as well as its benefits to the local small miners and economy. The plant is expected to be generating positive cashflow in Q1 of 2023.
We also discuss Bactech’s newly approved patent that separates nickel, cobalt and iron ore from pyrrhotite tailings. Pyrrhotite is an iron sulphide mineral containing low levels of nickel, cobalt, and copper — typically dismissed and discarded as an uneconomical waste by-product by mining operations that continues to perpetuate an environmental tailings legacy in need of remediation. This will unleash huge mineral potential in the estimated $15 billion worth of ore tied to tailings in the Sudbury region alone.
