ORENINC INDEX down as commodities headed lower

 

 

 

 

 

ORENINC INDEX – Monday, April 18th 2022

The Oreninc Index decreased in the trading week ending April 22nd, 2022 to 41.05 from 47.68 a week ago as commodity prices are headed lower.

 

On to the money: the aggregate financings announced decreased to $53 million, a 4-week low, with one new brokered financings and one new bought-deal financings announced. The average offer size increased to $2.5 million, a 4-week low, and the number of financings increased to 18.

 

Gold closed the week higher at $1,974/oz from $1,974/oz a week ago. The US dollar index closed higher at 101.22 from 100.32 a week ago.

 

The widely followed junior mining index, the VanEck managed GDXJ, closed the week down at $45.61 from $51.03 a week ago. HUI Arca Gold BUGS Index, which follows the major gold miners, closed the week higher at 309.50 from 304.20 last week. The SPDR GLD ETF inventory closed the week higher at 1,104.13 tonnes, or 35.49 million ounces, from 1099.49 tonnes last week.

 

In other commodities, Silver closed the week lower at $24.25/oz from $25.85/oz a week ago. Copper closed lower at $4.58/lb from $4.72/lb a week ago. Oil went higher as WTI closed lower at $102.07 a barrel from $106.95 a barrel a week ago.

 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower at 33,813 from 34,450 a week ago. Canada’s S&P/TSX Composite Index closed lower at 21,186 from 21,855 the previous week. The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index closed lower at 836.63 from 892.50 a week ago.

Major Financing Openings:

  • Copperbank Resources Corp. (CSE:CBK) opened a $15 million offering on a best efforts basis.
  • Anfield Energy Inc. (TSX-V:AEC) opened a $12 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Haywood Securities Inc. on a bought deal basis. The deal is expected to close on or about May 12, 2022.
  • Ultra Lithium Inc. (TSX-V:ULI) opened a $7 million offering on a best efforts basis.  Each unit includes a 1/2 warrant that expires in 12 months.
  • Brunswick Exploration Inc. (TSX-V:BRW) opened a $3.05 million offering on a best efforts basis.  Each unit includes a 1/2 warrant that expires in 24 months. The deal is expected to close on or about May 11, 2022.

 

Major Financing Closings:

  • Gold Mountain Mining Corp. (TSX-V:GMTN) closed a $18.5 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Eight Capital on a bought deal basis.  Each unit includes a 1/2 warrant that expires in 24 months. The deal is expected to close on or about April 21, 2022.
  • Fury Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX:FURY) closed a $11 million offering on a best efforts basis.
  • Metallum Resources Inc. (TSX-V:MZN) closed a $5.24 million offering on a best efforts basis.  Each unit includes 1 warrant that expires in 24 months.
  • Star Diamond Corp. (TSX:DIAM) closed a $5 million offering on a best efforts basis. The deal is expected to close on or about April 29, 2022.
