The preliminary agenda for the 9th Annual FNMPC Conference – The Next Seven Generations: Our Shared Future – is now live. With a strong economic focus and a global lens, this year’s program is organized around four core themes: Mining, Energy, Finance, and Policy. Sessions will highlight how Indigenous Nations are leading major projects as owners, decision-makers, and regulators, and what that leadership means for Canada’s future.
Across two full days, First Nation leaders, industry executives, investors, and governments from Canada and abroad will share insights on partnership-ready projects, Indigenous leadership in critical minerals and energy infrastructure, new approaches to financing and capital, and the policy frameworks that support long-term Indigenous ownership and economic sovereignty.
Featured speakers include:
Rohitesh “Ro” Dhawan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), on Indigenous Rights, participation, and the future of mining governance
