Omineca Mining and Metals Ltd. (TSX-V: OMM) (OTCQB: OMMSF) is a junior gold exploration and underground alluvial (placer) gold recovery company advancing its flagship Wingdam project in the historic Cariboo Mining District of south-central British Columbia. The company’s strategy combines near-term placer gold production from a buried paleochannel with longer-term hard-rock gold exploration to identify potential lode sources feeding the placer system.
Corporate Overview
Omineca focuses on underground alluvial gold mining and hard rock gold exploration in British Columbia’s Barkerville gold camp, a region with more than a century of documented gold production. The company’s Wingdam property covers over 61,392 hectares (613 square kilometres) and includes more than 15 linear kilometres of placer claims along the Lightning Creek valley, where thick overburden has preserved a buried paleochannel containing gold-bearing gravels.
Omineca (and its predecessor private company CVG Mining Ltd.) has been exploring the auriferous Deep Lead Channel gravels at Wingdam since 2009. A 2012 bulk sample from a single underground crosscut recovered 173.4 ounces of placer gold, demonstrating the economic potential of the underground paleoplacer target. Underground placer gold recovery operations were re-started in February 2025, and the company continues to advance both placer recovery and hard-rock exploration programs.
Projects
Wingdam Gold Project (Flagship)
Omineca’s flagship Wingdam gold exploration and placer recovery project is located along the Barkerville Highway, approximately 45 km east of Quesnel, British Columbia, in the Cariboo Mining District. The property comprises mineral tenures totaling 61,392 hectares (613 square kms) and more than 15 linear kilometres of placer claims encompassing the Lightning Creek
The project targets a buried paleochannel (ancient riverbed) located about 50 metres beneath the active Lightning Creek. The objective is full-scale recovery of high-grade placer gold from this paleochannel, while concurrently exploring for multiple hard-rock sources that may have fed the placer system. In August 2026, Omineca announced a hard-rock gold discovery from its 2025 winter drill program, including intercepts of 4.84 g/t gold over 1.07 metres and 1.25 g/t gold over 2.0 metres.
Fraser Canyon Placer Gold Recovery Project
In March 2026, Omineca signed a memorandum of understanding to fully fund the Fraser Canyon project, its second placer gold recovery and exploration project in British Columbia. In July 2026, the company’s mining partner PSI submitted an application to dewater the Fraser Canyon placer gold recovery project, advancing permitting and development activities.
