The Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia (AME BC) today congratulated the recipients of the Safe Day Everyday Gold Award and Safe Day Everyday Awards at the AME BC Health & Safety Awards Breakfast at Mineral Exploration Roundup. AME BC together with the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) present annual awards for performance in health and safety in mineral exploration. Today’s breakfast recognized achievement for the year 2011; the two associations will launch a survey for work conducted in 2012 in February.

The Safe Day Everyday Gold Award was presented to BHP Billiton Canada Inc. for having attained 391,549 person hours without a lost workday incident in 2011. AME BC and the PDAC also recognized 52 organizations who achieved a full year without a lost workday in their Canadian mineral exploration operations.
