Barkerville Gold Mines Reports the Startup of its QR Mill Facility

Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. announced today the startup of its QR mill facility which will process ore mined in 2013 from its QR Mine near the town of Quesnel in central British Columbia.

The Company anticipates pouring its first doré bar within the next few weeks as ore crushing began the morning of March 10th, 2014. The mill will operate 24 hours per day until the QR ore is processed at which point in time the Company expects to start processing ore from its Bonanza Ledge Mine. Weather conditions have been favourable which allows the Company to put more tonnes through the crushing circuit and fine ore bin.

The QR Mine operates under Permit M-198. There is currently in excess of 15,000 tonnes of ore extracted from the QR Mine in the mill stockpile. In June 2012 Permit M-198 was amended to also allow the Company to process Bonanza Ledge ore at the QR Mill

Mr. J. Frank Callaghan, Company president and CEO commented “Barkerville is excited to commence milling operations at a time when gold prices are trending upwards. Pouring gold doré bars and generating cash flow from production is an accomplishment few juniors are able to achieve and wouldn’t happen without the strength of the Company’s highly skilled workforce.”

The Company has had a positive safety record to date as there have been no accidents or incidents. Barkerville is increasing its workforce as operations move to three shifts that will start in approximately 4 weeks.
