Sydney, Australia: Australia’s leading mining and resource event will return to Sydney in 2024 following the extraordinary success of the 10^th anniversary conference.

This year’s International Mining and Resources Conference + Expo (IMARC) attracted over 9,000 attendees from 120 countries, 600 speakers and more than 500 exhibitors.

Importantly, it facilitated more than 3,000 face to face meetings, including many small Australian companies. These meetings underscore the importance of IMARC as a forum where industry comes together to do business.

Indeed, collaboration has been the buzz word this week, with a series of compelling presentations, panels, roundtables and sideline discussions tacking issues such as:

• Meeting the world’s growing demand for resources;
• Meeting community expectations on sustainability and transparency;
• Making safe, sustainable and productive industry;

Chief Executive Officer of Beacon Events, Daniel Kirwin, said IMARC continues to grow year-on-year, thanks to the support of its long-standing Founding Partners and the delegates, sponsors, supporters and stakeholders across the world who come together to share ideas, innovations, problems and solutions. He said the record numbers at this year’s event cemented IMARC as one of the top global forums for miners, investors, METS companies and governments.

IMARC 2023 Culminates in Grand Style with Gala Dinner

IMARC 2023 concluded on a high note with the spectacular Gala Dinner, bringing together over 1,000 distinguished attendees from the mining and resource industry. It was a wonderful night where attendees were able to celebrate the industry’s excellence and innovation.

The showpiece event at the Gala was a fireside chat between two former Wallabies captains, Nathan Sharpe and John Eales titled, “Green & Gold: Mining & the Wallabies.”  The two rugby greats discussed the similarities between elite sport and the business world, and the lesson the two industries can learn from each other.

Elizabeth Lewis-Gray was presented the Legend in Mining Award, in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the mining community.

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Lewis-Gray said, “I have always been passionate about Australia being the world’s best when it comes to mining, and thanks to the people I work with and the people in this industry we’re very competitive.”

Additionally, the event celebrated the achievements of Beacon COO, Anita Richards where she was presented an award acknowledging her outstanding achievements in fostering and growing IMARC into the world-class event it is now, over the past 10 years.

The IWIMRA silent auction, a cornerstone of the evening, showcased remarkable generosity and support from the attendees. The proceeds of the auction will go towards IMARC’s First Nations partner IWIMRA.

Further enhancing the night was the Bright Future STEM raffle, underscoring the industry’s commitment to fostering the next generation of talent in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

IMARC 2023’s Gala Dinner marked a triumphant conclusion to an eventful conference, exemplifying the collaboration and forward-thinking spirit of the mining community.
