Michael Fox is joined by the Founder of Shadow Stats John Williams. John is a trained economist who has tracked the changes in the reporting methodologies of Government statistics I am reporting economic data. Shadow stats removes the changes in the data methodology to give an apple-to-apple comparison to economic data using the old calculation methods. Our discussion is around changes in the CPI methodology. We discuss the history of the changes and why and how it effects numerous other economic statistics such as GDP, Real wages etc. The net effect is an economic model that makes things seem more rosy than they actually are.
