Prospector News Publisher Michael Fox is joined by Brian Miller CEO and Director of Astra Exploration (TSX-V: ASTR) live on location at the AME BC Round UP in Vancouver. Founded in 2020 the company was formed on a specific project in Northern Chile. Chile is the home of many large porphyry copper deposits. Geologically these are often linked to nearby epithermal gold-silver deposits that aren’t readily noticeable. Generally Copper Miners are not that interested in these deposits so many fly under the radar.
Permitting in Chile can take time but on in place now. While waiting for the permit the geology team found a compelling copper target to look at. Given the geology of the region IP is difficult to do at surface. Due to Teck budget cuts at the time, they owned the property they let the project go and fresh eyes could bring fresh results.
While waiting for the market conditions to improve to finance a proper drill program, the company will continue to explore and prep the property for drilling.
