ORENINC INDEX higher as financing activity slowly picks up

The Oreninc Index increased in the trading week ending July 2nd, 2021 to 67.84 from 51.80 a week ago as financing activity slowly seems to pick up.

 

On to the money: the aggregate financings announced increased to $137.6 million, a 3-week high, with 4 new brokered financings and 1 new bought-deal financing announced. The average offer size increased to $4.7 million, a 3-week high, and the number of financings increased to 29.

 

Gold closed the week higher at $1,783/oz from $1,777/oz a week ago. The US dollar index closed higher at 92.23 from 91.85 a week ago.

 

The widely followed junior mining index, the VanEck managed GDXJ, closed the week down at $47.46 from $47.73 a week ago. HUI Arca Gold BUGS Index, which follows the major gold miners, closed the week lower at 270.43 from 271.08 last week. The SPDR GLD ETF inventory closed the week lower at 1,042.58 tonnes, or 33.51 million ounces, from 1,053.06 tonnes last week.

 

In other commodities, Silver closed the week higher at $26.50/oz from $26.08/oz a week ago. Copper closed lower at $4.28/lb from $4.29/lb a week ago. Oil went higher as WTI closed higher at $75.16 a barrel from $74.05 a barrel a week ago.

 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher at 34,786 from 34,433 a week ago. Canada’s S&P/TSX Composite Index closed lower at 20,226 from 20,230 the previous week. The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index closed higher at 968.39 from 948.51 a week ago.

Major Financing Openings:

  • Orla Mining Ltd. (TSX-V:OLA) opened a $43.16 million offering on a best efforts basis.    The deal is expected to close on or about July 14, 2021.
  • Saturn Oil & Gas Inc. (TSX-V:SOIL) opened a $21 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Echelon Wealth Partners Inc. on a best efforts basis.
  • Japan Gold Corp. (TSX-V:JG) opened a $15 million offering on a best efforts basis.  Each unit includes 1 warrant that expires in 12 months.
  • Graphite One Inc. (TSX-V:GPH) opened a $12 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Canaccord Genuity Corp. on a best efforts basis.  Each unit includes 1 warrant that expires in 12 months. The deal is expected to close on or about July 29, 2021.

 

Major Financing Closings:

  • Troilus Gold Corp. (TSX-V:TLG) closed a $45 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Cormark Securities Inc. on a bought deal basis.  Each unit includes a 1/2 warrant that expires in 24 months. The deal is expected to close on or about June 30, 2021.
  • Thesis Gold Inc. (TSX-V:TAU) closed a $16 million offering on a best efforts basis. The deal is expected to close on or about June 29, 2021.
  • Monarch Mining Corp. (TSX:GBAR) closed a $6.66 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Sprott Capital Partners LP on a bought deal basis. Each unit includes a 1/2 warrant that expires in 24 months. The deal is expected to close on or about June 29, 2021.
  • Timberline Resources Corp. (TSX-V:TBR) closed a $5.57 million offering on a best efforts basis.
