ADP Canada National Employment Report: Employment in Canada Increased by 101,600 Jobs in May 2021

 

 

 

 

 

Employment in Canada increased by 101,600 jobs from April to May according to the May ADP® Canada National Employment Report.  Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Canada National Employment Report is produced by the ADP Research Institute®.  The report, which is derived from actual ADP payroll data, measures the change in total nonfarm payroll employment each month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.

“May reported an increase in jobs, marking four straight months of job growth,” said Nela Richardson, chief economist, ADP.

 

 

“Professional and business services; construction; and leisure and hospitality indicated strong employment gains; while trade, transportation and utilities; information and natural resources and mining saw layoffs.”

 

 

The April total of jobs added was revised from 351,300 to 101,300.

 

 

The June 2021 ADP Canada National Employment Report will be released at 8:30a.m.ET on July 15, 2021.
