Michael Fox interviews Peter Cashin, President and CEO of Auriginal Mining (TSX-V: AUME), about the company’s 100%-owned Roger copper-gold project near Chibougamau, Quebec. Peter explains how Auriginal was established through an RTO and rebranded after acquiring control of the Roger Project, which he originally explored in the 1980s, and discusses how recent drilling has extended the porphyry system at least 150 metres vertically and up to 500–1,000 metres beyond previous limits. The updated NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate now outlines an Inferred Resource of 80.5 million tonnes at 0.54 g/t gold, containing 1.39 million ounces of gold, 1.05 million ounces of silver, and 70.6 million pounds of copper, while also identifying an overlying gold-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) system with strong base- and precious-metal potential. Peter reviews the expanded mineralized envelope, the potential to materially grow the resource through 2026 drilling and a planned 2027 program of airborne geophysics and 20,000–25,000 metres of diamond drilling, and explains why higher-grade material below the historical pit could represent significant future upside.
