As the Olympics open in South Korea at the end of this week, we are reminded that February 6, 1948, Ottawa’s Barbara Ann Scott wins Canada’s first-ever gold medal in figure skating at the Winter Olympic Games in St. Moritz, Switzerland. In 2018, we are projected to win a nation high of 30 medals. GO TEAM CANADA!

 

 

Monday February 5

 

As the week begins Canada’s First Nations look to get into the legal Marijuana market, as RavenQuest BioMed Inc. (CSE: RQB) is proud to announce that it will be working with First Nation communities from across the Province of Saskatchewan, providing valuable information and strategic business approaches surrounding the Cannabis, Medical Marijuana and Hemp industries. Cannabis company, TerrAscend Corp. (CSE: TER) got a shot in the treasury when they announced the closing of a $52.5 Million private placement. The Company intends to use the proceeds from the investment for expansion of its existing facility, pursuit of strategic assets, and for working capital and general corporate purposes.

 

 

More money flew into the cannabis space as Choom™ (CSE: CHOO) (OTCQB: CHOOF) announced it had closed a $2.7 Million private placement. Its intentions are to use the net proceeds to advance the Company’s development strategy.

 

 

Wednesday February 7

 

The weed market continues to have good news, as CannaRoyalty Corp. (CSE: CRZ) (OTCQX: CNNRF) an active investor and operator in the legal cannabis industry, announced the launch of the Bhang® Vaporizer product portfolio into the entire Southern California region through CannaRoyalty investee River Collective California’s largest cannabis distributor. This expansion provides hundreds of additional dispensaries in Southern California with access to Bhang Vape’s line of oils, disposable vape pens, and cartridge vape kits, through the River Distribution network.

 

 

 

Thursday February 8

 

 

 

Cannabis company, Future Farm Technologies Inc. (CSE: FFT) (OTCQB: FFRMF) is pleased to announces expansion into Puerto Rico via the acquisition 5 dispensary licences from Clinica Verde. “Our existing stores are located in high-traffic locations, and ever since our launch in February 2017 we have enjoyed sustained sales growth.” says Ramón Ortiz, CEO of Clinica Verde.

 

 

Investment company, Rockshield Capital Corp. (CSE:RKS) closes a $1.1 Million private placement in order to fund ongoing investments and general corporate purposes.

 

 

 

Friday February 9

 

 

In the era of #metoo, gaming company, ePlay Digital Inc. The week closes with one more shot to the treasury of a marijuana company. THC BioMed Intl Ltd. (CSE: THC) closes a $1.1 Million private placement to fund its international growth.

 

 

For the week the CSE Index went counter to the major markets and was up on the week from 1210.65 to 1267.10.

 

 

As the week closes, the BC government moves the province’s “Family Day” holiday to the third weekend in February to align itself with the holiday in the rest of the country. Who says BC need to be out of step with everyone forever.
