Rockhaven Resources Ltd. Intersects 56.18 g/t Gold and 290 g/t Silver over 1.19 m and 23.70 g/t Gold and 652 g/t Silver over 1.74 m at Klaza Project, Yukon

Rockhaven Resources Ltd. (TSX-V:RK) is pleased to announce assay results for an additional 18 diamond drill holes from the 2017 exploration program at its 100% owned Klaza gold-silver property, located in the Dawson Range Gold Belt of southern Yukon.

A total of 15,922 m of drilling in 96 holes were completed during the 2017 exploration program.  Holes in this release comprise the remaining holes that tested the Western and Central BRX zones, where infill drilling in 2017 has better defined near-surface mineralization so that inferred resources can be upgraded to indicated resources.

Assay highlights from this news release include:

  • 18 g/t gold, 290 g/t silver, 1.44% lead and 1.63% zinc over 1.19 m – Hole 416
  • 70 g/t gold, 652 g/t silver, 5.42% lead and 4.04% zinc over 1.74 m – Hole 404
  • 21 g/t gold, 402 g/t silver, 1.60% lead and 2.37% zinc over 1.09 m – Hole 422
  • 00 g/t gold, 271 g/t silver, 3.26% lead and 1.92% zinc over 2.18 m plus
    5.98 g/t gold, 82.3 g/t silver, 0.91% lead and 1.90% zinc over 2.27 m – Hole 407
  • 76 g/t gold, 641 g/t silver, 1.92% lead and 1.37% zinc over 2.16 m – Hole 428
  • 81 g/t gold, 113 g/t silver, 0.22% lead and 0.66% zinc over 1.47 m – Hole 413
  • 11 g/t gold, 150 g/t silver, 1.94% lead and 0.86% zinc over 7.36 m – Hole 409
  • 90 g/t gold, 265 g/t silver, 1.38% lead and 3.51% zinc over 0.52 m – Hole 405

“The drill results at the Western BRX Zone continue to confirm the style and consistency of high-grade gold and silver mineralization and further validates the Western BRX Zone as a truly elite asset,” stated Matt Turner, Rockhaven’s CEO.  “Road accessible mineralization of this calibre is rare in northern Canada and we expect to continue to focus on defining this zone as the Klaza project advances.”

Western BRX Zone

The Western BRX Zone currently hosts an inferred mineral resource estimate of 1,368,000 tonnes containing 352,000 oz gold, 5,813,000 oz silver, 39.4 million lbs lead and 42.8 million lbs zinc at an average grade of 8.01 g/t gold, 132 g/t silver, 1.31% lead and 1.42% zinc (See March 1, 2016 Preliminary Economic Assessment on the Rockhaven website (www.rockhavenresources.com)).

Mineralized veins are emplaced adjacent to a feldspar porphyry dyke that can be traced along the length of the zone.  Since its discovery in 2011, a total of 9 excavator trenches and 76 diamond drill holes have traced mineralization over a 500 m strike length and from surface to a maximum depth of 520 m down-dip.  Maps and sections from the 2017 exploration program can be viewed on the Rockhaven website.

Central BRX Zone

The Central BRX Zone is the site of the original discovery at the Klaza property and is situated along strike and to the east of the Western BRX Zone.  These two zones are separated by a cross fault that facilitated both vertical and lateral displacement between the two zones.  Although the orientation and visual nature of the veins are similar on both sides of the fault, mineralization is generally silver dominant in the Central BRX Zone.

Significant new drill results from the BRX Zone and a subsidiary vein in the hanging wall are shown in Table I.

KL-17-418 and KL-17-420 did not return significant mineralization.

Results from the final six holes of 2017, which tested other zones on the Klaza property, will be released shortly.  Results of excavator trenching, prospecting, soil geochemical and geophysical surveys are also pending.

QAQC

All analyses for rock and core samples from the 2017 program were performed by ALS Minerals with sample preparation in North Vancouver, Whitehorse, Yellowknife or Thunder Bay and assays and geochemical analyses in North Vancouver. Core samples were routinely analyzed for gold by fire assay followed by atomic absorption (Au-AA24) and 48 other elements by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ME-MS61). Samples that exceeded the detection limits of the routine methods were assayed for silver, copper, lead and zinc by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (Ag/Cu/Pb/Zn – OG62) and gold by gravimetric analysis (Au-GRA22). Rigorous procedures were in place regarding sample collection, chain of custody and data entry. Certified assay standards, coarse reject duplicates, field duplicates and blanks were routinely inserted into the sample stream to ensure integrity of the assay process. All of the results reported have passed the QAQC screening.

Additional information about the Klaza property Mineral Resource and Preliminary Economic Assessment is summarized in Rockhaven’s March 1, 2016 technical report titled, “Technical Reports and PEA for the Klaza Au-Ag deposit, Yukon Canada for Rockhaven Resources Ltd.” which can be viewed at www.sedar.com under the Rockhaven profile or on the Rockhaven website at www.rockhavenresources.com.

The 2017 program was managed by Archer, Cathro & Associates (1981) Limited. Technical information in this news release has been approved by Matthew R. Dumala, P.Eng., a geological engineer with Archer Cathro and qualified person for the purpose of National Instrument 43-101.
